Hong Kong Day 1 - Hotel

After much deliberation, we decided on Hong Kong and Macau as our next short holiday destination. One of the main reasons was Cathay Pacific’s travel special package. As our previous experience with another airline holiday package was good, we decided to try Cathay Pacific’s offering. We wanted to visit Macau during this trip, so we extended the 4D3N package by another 2 nights.

Hong Kong (and Macau) is synonymous with good food, so there’s going to be lots of food photos in this series of holiday set! Here’s our dinner on board Cathay Pacific – fish with rice.

And here’s the chicken with potatoes. Not bad.

It was around 9pm when we landed in HK. After having registered for our 'free' airport transfer (By Vigor), we were asked to wait at the Airport Express Ticket Counter. While waiting, we got a few savories and a drink from the nearby bakery.

The gathering point:

To help the Vigor staff identify us easily, we were given a sticker to wear.

And one for our luggage. (LP stands for Langham Place, which was the hotel we were staying in).

At the appointed time, a Vigor representative gathered us and brought us to the Hotel Shuttle Bus bay (at Terminal 2, a 5-8 minute's walk away).

We thought we would be shepherded onto one bus to bring all of us to our respective hotels. Instead, the representative divided the group into smaller groups that were staying in the same vicinity. So we got onto a 30-seater bus with 2 other travelers. A smooth 30 minutes later, we were the first to alight at our hotel – Langham Place, Mongkok.

Checking in the hotel was a breeze. It’s quite an impressive hotel, once you’re at the lobby. The room that we got seemed to be handicap-friendly.

Nice double bed.

Spacious! Great for a wheelchair to move around.

Looking at the main door and bathroom (that’s the door on the right).

Looking into the bathroom.

Appears to be handicap-friendly.
