Hello! Here are our photos of the trip to India & Kashmir!
We signed up with IK Chin Travel Services for the India's Jet Airways 9D Golden Moments + Kashmir tour package. Before we left Singapore, I told my wife that as long as we avoided the Delhi Belly, it would be a good holiday. (In case I forget to say - it was a good holiday! We enjoyed it on the whole.)
On day one, we landed in New Delhi at 2.15am (India time) and was brought to Hotel Regent Continental for a short rest. We had no expectations for this trip. We just went with an open mind. :) But a moldy fridge and dirty beds?! (Note about the above photo: The room was sooo small that I had to jigsaw the shot. I took several photos and stitched them using Microsoft Image Composite Editor.)
From Delhi, we went to Srinagar, Kashmir first. This was our ride in Kashmir. Our luggage was placed on the jeep's roof rack. Amazingly, our bags did not fall off during the journey from the airport to the house boats!
The drop off and pick up point for the 'gondolas' aka Shikaras. The Shikaras were waiting for us at Dal Lake, where the house boats are located.
It's only a 5 minute ride from the jetty to the house boats.
See how long the house boat is? Depending on the type, a house boat either has three or four rooms.
Only the corridor is this narrow.
But the rooms are huge! Notice the wood stove? It was winter when we were there, so it came in real handy!
All rooms come with an attached shower....
with instructions on how to get hot water running....
and to answer frequently asked question... yes.. there's a toilet in the bathroom too
This is the dining area where all three meals are served. Cozy.
Every meal on the house boat begins with a bowl of hot soup, which was greatly appreciated.
Meals served in the houseboat were great! (This was our late lunch)

So after lunch at the boat house, we went on a tour of Lake Dal.
